I personally love unexpected color combinations or just color with different textures incorporated into outerwear pieces.  It’s always easy and safe to throw on a classic and timeless coat or trench coat in black, camel or gray tones, but when you just want and need a little creativity you can go with something out of your comfort zone.

This yellow coat can be quite tricky and a little on a daring side to work with, but my take would be to combine it with something like a classic statement scarf in plaid or check and a neutral tone hat or beanie – keeping everything else very neutral. My outfit under the coat was rather uneventful – a simple black sweater and a black skirt with a pair of tights. This color pop combo kept me comfy, toasty and simply happy!
