Grey and gold is one of those color schemes I find myself infatuated with from home decor and extending into fashion and style as well.

I think gold brings the excitement into an otherwise lackluster and mundane grey hue.  The grey on the other hand makes the gold softer and more conventional, taking the pompous and gaudy mood out, which gold can attribute to sometimes.

Hence if you combine the two you get perfectly exciting but a totally mainstream and pleasant palette.

That’s the way I tend to tackle the metallics – subduing the potential  “flashy” effect. I just enjoy wearing the finish too much, so keeping metallics only for special occasions simply isn’t an option for me.
