Once the temperatures fall below my comfortable, warm zone I tend to gravitate to the comfiest and coziest knits.
Although I do love layers to keep me toasty, there is nothing like the soft and snuggly cashmere sweater that comes to the rescue on a chilly day.
The main problem with knits and sweaters is they can be quite bulky or even heavy, adding extra weight and volume to the look. My tip in this case is to pair it with some lighter fabrics or dainty details. Something like lace or a skirt in metallic finish or even leather can balance out a heavier top. In this look, I went for a delicate kitten heel and some playful jewelry along with a baker boy cap to keep the look light and fresh. The off the shoulder detail can also help to shift the bulkiness and create dimensions on the otherwise shapeless knit. You can always try to play with a belt if the length and volume of the top allow it to accentuate the waist.
How do you tend to balance fashion and comfort when it comes to heavy duty but oh-so-loved sweaters during the cooler months?
