My fascination with metallics and metallic finishes doesn’t really have seasonal limitations. I think if styled right, gold or silver can elevate and glam up a casual and simple summer look or add structure and fancier detail to a romantic and airy spring outfit.
In fall and winter you can totally play the other way around and lighten up an otherwise full of rich metallics look with more neutral textures and finishes, fully embracing the depth of the sheen.
Here is an example featured in today’s story shot in Paris, where a normally festive foil finish is incorporated into a somewhat formal daytime look. On the other hand when the evening comes around, paired with a velvet jacket, lace blouse or some fun statement jewelry, it becomes a dashing outfit.
