So here it is! I am extremely thrilled to share with you the first part of my story from the Maldives. These colorful postcards were taken in April during my stay on one of the atolls by an amazing photographer based in Male – Alina Marchuk. Alina had the perfect eye for scouting the best hidden spots and crevices on the island during the shoot.
Don’t be fooled by the perfect picture, though. We ran into a bunch of obstacles like a blazing sun and high humidity. It put me in a slight panic since nothing would stay in place. Melting off face and frizzy hair disaster anybody? But Alina and I worked as a team and cheered each other up keeping a good spirit with a bubbly and relaxed energy. As I like to say when life gives you lemons just make lemon drops and try to laugh it off. So that’s what we did! Since the Maldives are a popular destination for weddings, honeymoons or just that perfect memorable trip you want to capture in photos, I would keep in mind the extreme weather conditions you might encounter. Shoot as late in the day as your schedule allows. Even in the earliest morning light, the sun can already feel pretty intense.
The island itself was pretty magical and definitely had an abundancy of color, so this perfect Azalea dress from Self Portrait ensconced perfectly right into the floral and lush green scenery.
This trip was really special, so I hope Alina and I managed to translate the emotions and the spirit of the island and its scenery. Keep an eye for the rest of the story from Maldives. To be continued!
