When it comes to putting an outfit together, color is definitely a dominant factor for me most of the time. It is always between either the color or a statement piece.

I do love tan and red separately but paired together they create this nice match that was inspired by a caramel apple desert color palette.
Breaking down today’s look, I would like to talk about the versatility of the trench coat. It’s a perfect layer during most of the year: mid-spring, rainy, chilly summer days or transitional fall days. If you do opt for a classic tan trench then your styling options are endless it perfectly coordinates with most colors. But if you fancy a newer take on a trench, then I would recommend to explore khaki, blue, white, grey or even a bright color option for a fun S/S spin. Keep an eye out for my pastel hued trench styling soon as an alternative to the traditional one.
As for the cut, there is also room to play with. You can always go with a classic design which Balenciaga proved can be re-envisioned with a worn off-the-shoulders or asymmetrically buttoned look, or even choose a boxier cut or full to the floor length to give it a trendy vibe.
Whatever style or color you choose for a trench I definitely think it’s a staple and even that classic and forgotten piece in your closet can be brought back to life with just a few tricks to modernize and freshen up the look.
