Denim is not particularly dressy or known to strike a chord as evening wear or red carpet appropriate attire, but some rules should be broken or at least have some flexibility.

The “No Jeans” policy may still be often enforced but wearing a denim jacket can be pretty up-lifting. Of course I am not talking about your comfiest, broken into go-to jacket, but more of a creative denim jacket type.
A perfect example of this look is an outfit I wore at fashion shows and presentations in NYC as well as the after-party celebrations. This denim number was completely appropriate and elegantly put together for the occasions. Paired with a statement midi skirt, my denim jacket almost turned into official evening wear, or at very least didn’t distract from the tone of the skirt and the rest of the dressier details.
