Naeem Khan’s FW19 collection was all about 70’s disco glamour, influenced by the designer’s original roots in India. It was hard not to be drawn to all the intricate details and embroidery complementing the rich hues.
Another reference to the 70’s were the icons of that time – Pat Cleveland, Karen Bjornson and Alva Chinn – whom Naeem Khan has close ties with from his time spent working at Halston.
Translating the theme of the 70’s into makeup, Maybelline’s artist Gato created a feminine and sophisticated look with the focus on voluminous lashes, glossy nude lips, shimmery eyes and radiant skin.
It was all about the 70’s VA-Va-Voom when it came to the hair, and Justine Marjan once again did her magic on behalf of Tresseme.

As an endless 70’s fan, everything about the collection really spoke to me. The makeup, the hair, everything had my name written all over it.
The collection was a nice surprise as well since Naeem Khan is known for his grandiose gowns. To the contrary, this FW19 had a lot of separates – still statement and bold – but something you can easily tone down wearing with jeans or classic pair of pants or skirt making the pieces a bit more flexible and mainstream, which is always a win win situation.
