Paris is always a good idea and we can all agree with that, but when you catch it in bloom it’s another story. Don’t get me wrong, I can even appreciate a gray, rainy day in the City of Lights, as it still has its charm, but I’ll choose Paris in bloom on any day – it’s that special.

Now moving on to fashion because that’s still the main focus of this little internet space. I am always trying to share my tips on how to invest in and choose statement pieces as part of building a smart wardrobe.
One of my all time favorite clothing pieces is a good ol’ blazer or jacket. It is always on my priority list when considering spending a little more on clothes shopping. It is your top layer so you probably want it to be cut well and of decent quality. Then I would assess how often the item can be utilized and rotated in your closet and then choose a price point which makes sense from that perspective.
For me, Balmain became an investment splurge that cost me on daily basis the same as a buy from a good quality brand, since I always tend to reach for the jacket both day and night as a business, business casual and going out piece. It works perfectly well with trousers, jeans, leather pants, skirts: again both midi and mini length and dresses, toning down the print or giving needed structure.
So if you really would like to add a statement piece from Balmain I would suggest to score it on sale or special offer. For example, right now the seasonal sales have already started in most countries and you can definitely find great blazers at still a steep but better price than they would normally go for.
What do you like to splurge on while shopping for clothes?
